If it really was that, things can get miserable quickly because the sillyvirus infects the liver and digestive tract. It gives that apathy too. What you need then is a simple antiinflammatory, metamizole is cheap and it works. Then fill up on vitamin D and zinc and vitamin C, the more vitamins the better (zinc is limited in absorption, ~30 mg/day, so many pills are useless). Honey, green tea, fish and meat and fruit/veg help, also garlic.

From everything I've read, vitamin D is the most essential to prevention. I live in a land of perpetual overcast weather, so I put myself and my 75 year old mother on an inexpensive D supplement when this began, and neither of us has had so much as a sniffle for 2 years.
