[Phnom Penh, 11/15/22]

On 4/28/25, I called out a nastily dishonest reviewer of my Kafka, Anti-Semite on Amazon. Though I confused “Johnny the Reviewer” with “western lands,” I had a pretty good idea of this man’s real identity. I had met Rick and his Thai wife in Vientiane, Laos, and had even invited him to Vung Tau. When Rick got sick with Covid, I suggested remedies that had helped me when I was afflicted with the same in Tirana, Albania.

Meeting me for lunch in Laos, Rick and his wife also met my friend, “X.” X is a white Canadian married to a Lao wife. After she passed away, he stayed in Laos to raise their two children. Spending about a week at X’s house, I became very fond of his two kids. They can’t be more lovely or well behaved. At that Lao lunch, Rick gave me money to support my work.

I sketch all this out to show that Rick and I have a history. When I listed the tables of contents for my first 19 self-published books on 11/13/24, Rick emailed me immediately, “Talk about prolific. Linh, you’re something else man. All good! Your material is truly great. I eagerly look forward to checking out more on Amazon. I actually remember when Amazon sold only books!”
