On 5/7/99, five American bombs were guided into the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, murdering three Chinese journalists. This was during the US led NATO bombing of Serbia. At least 2,000 Serbs were killed, half of them civilians. Roughly 10,000 Serbs were wounded.
On 5/7/2024, Xi Jinping and his wife landed in Belgrade. They were greeted by children bearing flowers and dancers, all in colorful Serb costumes. Next day in town, 20,000 Serbs waving Serb and Chinese flags heard their president, Aleksandar Vučić, declare, “I want to especially thank President Xi because he has always shown a respect for Serbia,” a pointed contrast to Uncle Sam and his minions. “I want to thank him endlessly and I ask you for the biggest applause for President Xi. Let live the ironclad friendship between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China.” As the crowd roared, a smiling Xi applauded back and waved at them.
Their meeting was in hideous New Belgrade. For historical sites, you must cross the Sava to find remains of the Roman castrum; a 16th century Ottoman mosque; the elegant Hotel Moskva, where Ivo Andrić had his own table; the still broken buildings of the Department of Defense; the Nikola Tesla Museum and Saint Sava Church, now nearing completion with Russian money. At this magnificent edifice on 1/17/19, Putin and Vučić symbolically laid stones in a large mosaic depicting the Mandylion.
You’d think to call any nation nationalistic is a tautology, but this is no longer true in the West. Consider, for example, this astounding statement by Robert Habeck, “Vaterlandsliebe fand ich stets zum Kotzen.” Love of country I’ve always found disgusting!
Habeck is Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action plus Vice-Chancellor, so its second highest cabinet member. Teaching at the University of Leipzig in 2015, I witnessed firsthand the collapse of German nationalism. Spending two months in Serbia in 2020, I was among a much saner people.
Serbian pride has even led to the tentative embrace of Marina Abramović. Celebrated in the West, Abramović did not have a solo show in Belgrade for 45 years. Art in America tells us why:
Balkan Baroque has also been critiqued for exploiting negative ethnic stereotypes of the Balkans as an inherently violent backwater. The same charge was leveled even more aggressively at the video Balkan Erotic Epic (2005), which shows naked men fornicating with dirt, women in traditional dresses offering their bare breasts to the heavens while spreading their naked legs toward the earth, and men, also in traditional garb, flaunting erections.
Like Flannery O’Connor and so many others, Abramović gained part of her fame by smearing her own. Still, her talent is undeniable. In 2011, Abramović staged a spectacular gala at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Paid $150 per head, models lay naked under plastic skeletons on banquet tables as rich patrons splurged. Others simply had to stick their heads out, so no problema! Still, one spoilsport caused a stink:
They will be sitting on lazy susans under the table and slowly rotating and making eye contact with the donors/diners. Of course we were warned that we will not be able to leave to pee, etc. That the diners may try to feed us, give us drinks, fondle us under the table, etc but will be warned not to. Whatever happens, we are to remain in performance mode and unaffected. What the fuck?!
Though art should be free to explore the unspeakable, public spectacles must obey societal norms. Kosher in LA, Abramović’s An Artist’s Life Manifesto would not have been tolerated in any Muslim, Oriental or black African country. Serbia itself would have refused to host it, I’m sure.
In 2017, Katy Perry outdid Abramović with her music video, Bon Appétit. It has reached 1.3 billion views on YouTube! Culturally, there’s been a world war for decades. No sideshow, it’s a battle over souls, so the stakes can’t be higher.
After Belgrade, Xi landed in Budapest. Right at the airport, Xi had a memorable experience. Addressing Viktor Orbán the next day, Xi recounted, “After I got off the plane yesterday, a young woman presented flowers to me. Then I was told that this was the same girl who presented flowers to me during my visit here 15 years ago. She was only six years old back then, and now she has become a young woman. It was touching to me because her growth from a kid to a beautiful young woman symbolizes the growth of the friendship between China and Hungary.”
Of course, politicians are expected to be smooth and diplomatic, but Biden would have had the hardest time stringing so many sentences together. Plus, he must explain why he squeezed so long and sniffed so hard the blonde babe.
Like Serbia, Hungary is protective of its heritage, so does not go along with the openly Satanic West. Orbán has even characterized the Budapest-born George Soros as a vicious oligarch who uses Mafia tactics to corrupt and weaken nations. In retaliation, Western media and politicians have branded Orbán a neo-Fascist.
Spending billions, Soros backs open borders, low bails for criminals, Antifa berserkers and rioting blacks. Ninety-three-years-old, Soros has slowed down, but fear not. His son Alex will maintain the Soros vision.
As a philanthropist, Soros is second only to Bill Gates. It’s high time they replace the racist Washington and Jefferson on Mount Rushmore.

A few years after the Chinese embassy bombing the CIA agent responsible for "mistakenly" giving the coordinates for bombing was murdered while jogging in a park in Northern Virginia. with his wife. His wife was left for dead hanging on a fence but survived. So it was reported in a newspaper article I can no longer find on today's internet that a white van had pulled up. Out came men wearing balaclavas who murdered the CIA man with gunfire. A professional hit most likely sponsored by an international intelligence agency. I wonder which?
In 1993,quite a lot of people from the former Yugoslavia came to Switzerland. They integrated pretty well.I played some gigs with a Serb singer, after about three beers,10pm,the whole place started to sing along, banging the rhythm, dancing.People would come and stick money under the strings on the guitar-head.Nice looking women.Even though I didnt understand a word,I had a great time.
Now compare this to the local, swiss-run "Jazz Club",kept alive by an annual half-million from one of the Hoffmann La Roche heiresses.Fittingly,it sits within the walls of the old prison.
I walked in there,it was pretty dead,a lame-ass excuse for a guitar player, who tries to fool the audience by means of contorting his facial muscles, anyway I said something to my friend and received a stern look from the bartender. What?I asked. He said`You shouldnt talk in here`.It wasnt like I had a bullhorn or even spoke loudly. So I can whole-heartedly agree that Serbs seem less degenerated than here brain-dead Swiss and Germans. For decades,I have suspected that tranquilizers are secretly deployed here.Like a Serb friend said`They all seem to have their handbrake on`.
