Bill Clinton former el presidente, played the sax. Now Jeffery Sachs, economist and former establishment, elite insider and looter of Russia after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 has had a "change of heart" and is confessing his sins to the likes of that other repentant, Tucker Carlson.

Keep your hands on your wallets, folks. When these guys go into the confessional and explicate to expunge their sins, something is up. And it ain't good for you. And it ain't good for me. As George Carlin once said: "It's a big club; and you and me, we ain't in the big club..."

The name of the book alone is brilliant. Who would think to combine Spanish with American black slang, with old Norse?

It was one of the Saatchi brothers I believe (London advertising moguls of the bagel persuasion) who had the brilliant idea of helping a French clothing outfitter sell their jeans in the United Kingdom - trade name the product line French Connection UK, commonly abbreviated to F.C.U.K. or sometimes just FCUK. Catchy.

Americans, being both prurient and repressed at the same time, love "edgy" slogans evocative of salacious sex. It makes them feel like they're sticking it to the establishment while in reality all they do is lick the boots of their establishment masters. How many people have I seen wearing "obey" sweatshirts recently. As if they had a clue.

See the movie "They Live." By John Carpenter. Americans need to put on the sunglasses.

FCUK leveraged their brand recognition into toiletries and aftershaves for men (and trans men too these days, I guess:).

I'm guessing many American nowadays, being addled and distracted, think that FCUK is the same as F*ck.

I'm expecting to see the "trans" toiletries and aftershave aisle at my local CVS pharmacy soon. People can do what ever they want regarding sex; just please, for the love of god, don't rub everyone else's face in it. I don't care how "proud" a person is of their sexual orientation, people should keep it to themselves. Sex is a private matter between consenting adults.

I can survive without FCUK shampoo for sure. Just got a top-brand bottle of organic shampoo in a thrift store for $3 yesterday, lol.

It is remarkably coincidental that you should mention that. Just an hour ago I walked back to my "human burrow" from my local CVS pharmacy where I spent $3.49 for the cheapest bottle of shampoo I could find. (I had been washing my hair with soap which leaves my hair "flat and lifeless" which, or so I am told by Madison Avenue, makes me an absolute turn-off. ) Your comment reminds me that if I just walk another half mile up the street there is a Dollar Store where I can probably save a little more. I used to buy those cheap shampoos for 99 cents.

Which reminds me I've been coming across a lot of articles lately making a compelling case that the current round of inflation in this country is due to corporate greed. Corporations are raising prices because they can get away with it. Apparently the Covid Pandemic (which one will notice has conveniently gone away) gave corporations the green light to defy anti-trust prosecution. My limited understanding is Biden and the Democrats will tighten up anti-trust law but it takes several years to make its way through the pipeline. In the mean time prices continue to rise.

Prices are certainly on the rise worldwide. Here I noticed the price of olive oil has literally doubled. I bought a half liter of store brand at the old price, luckily, and that will last me a few months.
