Hi everyone,

At 6:15PM, I finally managed to hobble outside for my first meal of the day. Here's a little video of where I would have liked to eat:

Linh,

Please take some time to look at the valuable free resource.

https://urotherapyresearch.com/resources/

There are dozens of free PDFs there.

This is Dr. Ed Group's site. The psychological conditioning that makes this idea so hard to put into practice is a huge obstacle, but if you are really feeling bad, it might be easier to start.

Best wishes to you sir. It this method works for you please pass along that information!

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Linh!

In ayurveda, they say that "fasting is the first medicine", so juice and some peanuts sounds like a good idea.

Dearest Linh,

I am sorry to learn of your bodily sores. No doubt your doting readership will soon be providing you with all manners of detox methods. I confess that I am among those who simply cannot resist the urge to extol unsolicited advice.

The short version of my counsel is to start taking Vitamin C powder. About 1000-1500mg/day minimum.

If you’re interested, here is the long version:

I too disdain doctors, and as such I have become somewhat obsessed with taking health matters into my own hands. Some time ago I looked into how to detox particularly nasty compounds from the brain (such as heavy metals), and I discovered that glutathione (GSH) is the ticket.

Now, there are snake oil salesmen who will happily sell you bottled GSH tablets, but taking them is a fool’s errand. The body cannot absorb GSH through the gut. You have to get the ingredients for your body to make its own GSH from your diet.

The three components needed to make GSH are: L-glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. These are all amino acids, and so you’ll find them in high protein foods, like red meat, chicken, pork, fish and eggs. Keep eating such foods every day.

(And if you are feeling magnanimous, when you do, say a prayer for all the god-forsaken vegans who think they are nibbling their way to health by eating rabbit food. Did you know that rabbits eat their own poop? It’s because their diet is so lousy, they have to eat everything twice to squeeze any sustenance from it.)

Another way to up your GSH levels is to get lots of Vitamin D. (Apparently, Vitamin D3 increases GSH in the brain after 10 days.) You can buy Vitamin D in a bottle, but of course you can get it for free by just spending as much time as you can in the sun.

I know from reading your substack that you like to eat meat, and you’ve been hanging out in sunny southeast Asia for some time now. So you shouldn’t have too much difficulty fulfilling the first two requisites for establishing good GSH levels. Which brings us back to the Vitamin C…

Vitamin C prevents GSH depletion. However, to make Vitamin C really effective as a detox agent, you need to take larger amounts than are typically found in food. That’s why you might want to consider getting the powdered stuff. It’s cheaper than tablets, and you can’t take too much of it.

I suppose I should also mention that you may want to take a break from pickling your liver. But it sounds like you are already doing so.

Whether or not this is helpful, I do sincerely hope you are feeling better soon. It sucks to be sick.

Well, I love to be proven wrong! God is obviously smiling on you, Peggy Bean. You must be good at getting in lots of non-meat protein sources.

This is very interesting, Linh. Your writing today and accompanying video demonstrate a core part of an extraordinary communications-creativity revolution. You communicate directly with your readership---we can even hear your voice (me for the first time)!---and we at the same time communicate directly with you. This is different. New. Monumental change. Nor do you need a single rich patron: We support you, each in ways personal, intellectual, psychological, financial, even spiritual. Amazing, is it not?

Sorry to learn of your latest medical challenge--best wishes for a speedy recovery. I see that plenty of others have weighed in with their advice, which I usually resist doing because everyone is different and I am certainly no doctor. I can only say what has worked for me in a general way.

I sadly concluded long ago that the only good general guideline is to default to non-pharmaceutical solutions whenever possible, only resorting to them when my condition can no longer be tolerated and there is no other choice. And at that point, I look for the simplest and most time-tested medicines.

I am not surprised at your report that people often take tranq unknowingly. I see it as no surprise that unidentified substances are present in drugs purchased on the street. What is disappointing, however, is that we have to worry about the “legitimate” pharmaceutical concoctions as well. We have a right to expect better. This state of affairs puts paid to the old excuse from authorities that we shouldn’t be allowed to purchase prescription drugs from overseas because they could be “unsafe”. Instead, buy a “guaranteed safe” pill from inside the US at 10 times the price! Heck, now even our food supply has become suspect.

Given the current state of US politics, it is unsurprising that no Democrats supported impeachment. But I’d wager that relatively few Republicans are genuinely outraged; most are just opportunistically “piling on” to an opportunity to impeach a political opponent. That’s how we select our leaders in the US nowadays, the way the Democrats did when they were ganging up on Trump.

Speaking of poets trying to become tenured professors, maybe we should bring back the old system of artists being sponsored by a single wealthy patron. You might still have to give up some intellectual independence, but perhaps with only a single master, not as much?

Check out the Health Ranger (Mike Adams) on naturalnews.com. He does the most exhaustive

testing of any supplement and health food seller including intensive testing for heavy metal

contamination which is NOT required even for organic foods in the USA. EU has extensive heavy metal testing. His extensive website can help you with detox. I spend thousands of dollars a

year on his supplements and products.

I've been plagued by thin, dry, overly sensitive skin all of my life. There is an over-the-counter product here in The States, "Lubriderm" that is quite effective in relieving dry skin. It is a little pricey but much better than the cheap lotions that only temporarily mask the problem.

Hydrocortisone cream 1% is also a effective medicine to help heal skin rashes.

I also avoid using normal laundry detergents, which are actually harsh. There are many commercial brands that are now "clear and free" of irritating dies and chemicals. Look for detergents that say "dermatologist tested."

I don't understand the whole "detoxing" fad. I've been lead to believe -- perhaps incorrectly? -- that the liver is a very effective organ for ridding the body of toxins.
