I wonder why the general building signage that’s visible in the photos is solely in the Latin alphabet. The Thais have their alphabet and the Cambodians theirs but did the Vietnamese not have their own alphabet characters before the Latin characters were introduced by Europeans?

Something about "things off in the distance" that fascinate me. Right now (4 am local), I can hear a train whistle that's more than 2 miles away. Something hypnotic about it or maybe I've just gone off the deep end.
