Class hatred was supposed to lead to economic revolution. Trotsky extended that to international Marxist revolution. That was the Old Left. Now it seems like the imperative is cultural revolution as propounded by the Frankfurters and their New Left woke coalition.
But in between was the Counter Culture, the 60s. Our slogans were simpler: Sex, Drugs and RnR & Don't Trust Anyone Over 30. No pretense at virtue-signalling, social justice or affirmative action. Enjoy the Psychedelic Renaissance. Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out. Hippies distrusted Marxists, SDS, all politicos, but above all, The Man (the father). Woodstock Nation was neither Comintern nor pc NWO. Not saying it was great. Parts of it were. A lot of it could be considered libertarian arrested development. However, it wasn't what came before, the Pete Seeger beatniks notwithstanding, and significantly different from what developed after.
I'm starting to collect examples of NWO nu-speak/newspeak and "gender-affirming surgery" is primo. It's brazen linguistic culture assault. Thanks for calling that to our attention. I'll bet others have their examples. There's so much of it out there. New monstrosities every day.
Legal assisted suicide in order to prevent "irreparable harm" in Canada is a baffling example. I let the cat out of the bag once and told someone that I thought depopulation explained many things. I was assured that wasn't the correct answer. People refuse to believe it.
Oh well, your comment made me think of this song and video:
The song brings a couple of things to mind. I never heard the Femmes version. I only knew Marc Bolan's glam version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evEbAbQ2sQk As to lyrics, here's how I interpret them. He's positing that the youth culture has the pure version of the revolution. Like Mao's Red Guard children, they won't fall for liberalism's half way, back-sliding measures. But the Femmes seem to be making fun of the naivete/absurdity of this commie wet dream.
However, the 60's flower children were always a drop-out, counter culture, never a new establishment or a vanguard in support of a revolution.
Preventing "irreparable harm" by authorizing euthanasia kind of takes the double talk cake.
Many thanks for the Marc Bolan version. I'd never seen it and really enjoyed the video. With Elton John and Ringo Starr to boot! It's got a softer edge than the Femmes cover. Sweeter, Marc Bolan had a unique groove.
Urinating into the pickle jar is a new low. However, urine is generally sterile and it may even add flavor to the pickles. But yeah, it's not a very nice thing to do. People like that don't belong in restaurant kitchens.
As for America, destroying it is the long term goal of the tribe we are not allowed to criticize. Enjoy that bagel, goy.
Gender-affirming surgery used to be called castration, there`s evolution for you. They`re not telling the kids that 80% of trans people consider suicide, and 40% actually trying. Its another depop tool, like feminism and pornography.Getting crime rates up is therefore a must. So,as Le Bon and Orwell put it,`When everybody is fucked in the head, watch out!`
The Violent Femmes were kind of tongue in cheek band. From Milwaukee. I remember reading Marc Bolan's writing credit for the song in the old cd liner notes.
My interpretation is that by the 80's, the children of the Revolution were stuffing themselves with consumerism, a form of liberalism in itself, and stopping themselves. When I think about it, the glazed looks and dull smiles could indicate a final obeisance to the Revolutionary spirit. I'm not sure, it's worth considering. I've had some time to think about these things and still don't have it figured out. I feel for the kids who are honestly trying to make sense of their world right now and do something meaningful about it. So much hysteria, false information and wrong turns to sort through. I give them credit for trying.
And "so it goes" , as Kurt Vonnegut put it. Thanks, Linh. A human being breathes where you sit.
That first phot is amazing! I loved the story about the Japanese prisoner and the baby. Hope you are well, Linh!

Hi Billy,

Paranoid Polaroid, genius.
