I made it back to Saigon after 50 years, and I sat at a cafe waiting for 5 o'clock, and then came the always reliable rain squall that I never forgot.. It was a very emotional момент, as if the rain was bringing all those memories back. I was in the Delta with a fast moving engineer battalion - I lived with the Vietnamese people, the Arvns, the Rangers, Green beanies, 2 man Advisors, the Cambodian, . The Delta Rice People and the Mekong was a completely different Vietnam. It will always be - Saigon.
Speaking of Buddha, reincarnation and Angry White Pussies made me think of these lines from One Way Down by Nashville Pussy, a raucous group with some hilarious commentary on rural American excess:

Plant slavery and also animal slavery and also people slavery - could they have been avoided? But hindsight is always 20/20. Is there a creator god? Is there an afterlife? Is "love god, and love your neighbour as yourself" what people are supposed to do? Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And may U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein, who should have retired at least ten years ago, rest in peace. And may President Joe Biden retire soon as well. May peace be with us all.
