More examples of anonymous idiocy. A comment on a photo of a toothless woman in her 90's selling lottery tickets next to knife seller, "Machete sales much better in Paris and London, or anywhere the Religion of Peace is popular."
A photo of a boy having breakfast yielded this comment, "Is that kid Frankenstein?" Granted, such garbage is all over the internet, but why does this idiot visit my low traffic blog?
Smug idiocy has become an American hallmark. This morning, I listened to bits of Michelle Obama's speech at the Democratic Convention. Each moronic and dishonest utterance was met with an ecstatic roar of approval. Her code switching is also absurdly funny.
On your blog now,it says, sign in with the fascists of Google ,which I dont want to,so I wish to say here about that Staten Island video, all going according to plan, divide and rule.I am thinking of undergoing a Pigmentation Alteration Program to become less white.
Gets me thinking about the colonisation fraud, while England ,well, ruled the world, most inhabitants of England itself were starving, dying at 29 from old age.
Opium Wars, they say, that was England, but it wasnt,Crown colonies belonged to privateer moneyboys,Queen Victoria was just like Joe Biden now.Kamala is perfect, though, like a ZH Commenter noticed, any criticism will be called racist and/or sexist.
Your video a few days ago, with the adorable kids was a nice contrast to so many kaput, broken faces I see here in Switzerland, thanks.
Regarding weather and dress, a Vietnamese woman showing much flesh is said to be dressed coolly, and her sexiness cools your eyeballs. To feel air where the sun doesn't shine is refreshing for you and, if you're young and beautiful, for others too.
thanks for the link to the Hereros and Conflict article with the amazing pictures - Thomas Pynchon included the Hereros in his novel _Gravity's Rainbow_ telling their story and sending one of them into the Schwarzkommando, an all-black battalion of the Wehrmacht -back in 1975 this was my first exposure to the 20th century's first genocide and was most illuminating - most people i know - white people - only know of the one, particular genocide of some europeans
Some of these “anons” have too much time on their hands. Really, they couldn’t find anything better to do? Even some stupid video game would be more interesting than anonymously spamming the Comments section of someone’s blog.
Poverty aside, there is always the thought that an itinerant street vendor might find it advantageous to wear the same unique article of clothing every day so that his regulars can spot him more easily in the crowd, e.g., look for the black polka dots—you can spot them from a distance long before you might recognize the face.
Clothing choices are obviously a cultural thing. For example: One thing you notice in this part of the US where immigrant Hispanics are common is the color choices. Colors popular south of the border are quite different from those chosen by the typical “norteamericano”. Much more subdued in the north, very bright and (we would say) garish in the south. This seems to go both for clothing and for cars. In the US, many would say they are “too loud.”
Our Chinese friends went back to their native Penang this year for a visit. Although they are retired and had kicked around the idea of returning there, they came back saying that they didn’t like it there any more—it was too hot and crowded. It is definitely a far cry from the climate in the Pacific Northwest that they have become used to.
Japanese used to dress more colorfully, but now they're mostly in black. It's the uniform of office workers. Germans, too, dress like they're going to a funeral.
Must confess I never finished Gravity's Rainbow, even tho I liked it a lot. Perhaps I didn't get to the Schwartzkommando episode, but the idea is not as far fetched as it might seem. There's more than one author dealing w/ the enlistment of African Blacks in both the Wehrmacht and SS. Veronika Kuzniar Clark's Black Nazis II! (gotta love that title) is recommended. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6877438-black-nazis
Occasionally I see some old black woman dressed in some garish costume that looks like psychedelic pajamas and it always seems like a fun change of pace these days.
It isn't like these oddly dressed women have to compete with traditionally stylish ones in the US. Wealthy American women wear just better quality boring clothing.
There also isn't much difference between how young and middle age American rich and poor men dress either: jeans and t shirt. The rich men's jeans and t-shirts just fit a little better. Poor Thai men at least aren't as fat and their jeans and t-shirts fit better than most American men.
Same with differences between a rich people's and a middle class cars or suvs. All are black, white or gray and have a similar design. From the side where you can't see the logo they look nearly alike.
The Congo dandies at least have some fun with clothes.

A comment on another old seller of lottery tickets, "Is she the vampire from Nosferatu? A life like hers is stuff for a horror film anyway."

The most miserable people are those who can't admit they hate themselves. America is full of them.

Here's a dandified Ngo Dinh Diem https://schoolhistory.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Ngo-Dinh-Diem_4.jpg
But what Asian power couple could top the sartorial splendor of Diem's predecessor Nguyen Cao Ky and his stunning wife? https://www.flickriver.com/photos/13476480@N07/7283920422/

If people are poor, they have to accept what's available in the used goods stores.
