It's not far behind in Australia. We've always followed the USA by a few years gap. In some things, particularly government overreach we're even leading the pack in our downward spiral. I've been committed to getting out of here once and for all as soon as I can manage. Having fallen into a deeper hole financially than would allow me to do so as anything but a refugee there'll be a delay but I'm leaving. As soon as I settle on a destination I'll look at learning the language if necessary. I already lived abroad for a number of years and know how much difference the language makes. If it seemed possible to fix what we have here, I'd stick around to try but there's no chance I can see.
On the topic of leaving the US and the attractions of Latin America, I gave a repeat speech yesterday on why I left 15 years ago. Both funny and tragic. This video is of a previous presentation of the same speech.
Love Fred. Glad you got him to comment. I love pretty much the same things about Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Argentina that he does about Mexico. I chose to live in Ukraine because there is more cultural affinity.
Mr. Seibert, since you are an American who has moved from the US sinking ship of state to the sinking ship of Ukraine, I'd love to get your opinion of Gonzalo Lira. And do you think that Russia's invasion was justified?
Ukraine is a political litmus. Jewish president, international Jewish support. Those facts establish the lineup. Lira chooses to be pro-Russia.
Russia should have won this by now. They are far from it. They are using up their immense arsenal at a huge clip without a whole lot to show for it. Ukraine thinks that time is on our side. Russia will tire, and we will get more and more NATO arms.
Morale here in Kyiv is very high. As well it might be - the Russians went elsewhere. I spent four years in wartime Vietnam where the people were not enthusiastic about the war. Ukrainians are. Russia has a history of brutality dating back to the Mongols. Everywhere: Against Japan, Finland, Germany, Chechnya, and 3 centuries here. The Ukrainians are slow to anger, but they have had it with Russia. They will fight until the Russians leave.
Thanks for your quick response, Graham. But as a man who has spoken out against Western imperialism and Globohomo, I'm surprised that you are fine with US/NATO control of your adopted country. The Ukrainians wouldn't be fighting Russia if not for the State Dept (Victorian Nuland)-CIA coup in 2014, and multi-millions in weapons flowing from the US military-industrial-security-complex. The Biden Regime and the Neocons seem more than happy to see your country fight to the last Ukrainian as long as it weakens Russia.
While I do not in the least doubt the malevolence of the neocons in the US government, State Department in particular, I have had a wake-up call about the evil of the Russians. Two evils can coexist.
I knew about the intellectual currents in Russia from having reviewed Alexander Dugin's "The Fourth Political Theory." It is total crap, imagining a divine mission for Russia to rule over just about every Slavic nation. Look at my review on Amazon. The surprising thing to me is that Putin is so far removed that he bought it.
So in summary, although I despise Joe Biden and just about everything he represents, I am happy that he is supporting Ukraine. We need it.
My hope is that we get rid of the Russians and that the EU and NATO drag their feet to the point that Ukraine never joins. But first things first – we have to win the war.
I've enjoyed the hell out of our discussion, Graham, especially as you are a learned man on the ground in Ukraine. As an outsider, I only know what I read. I never pay any mind to our presstitute MSM. I'd so love for Linh to offer his opinion on the subject, as he often does in other missives. At risk of being a pest, this will be my final comment.
One last thing: How many more tens of thousands of needless deaths are Ukrainians willing to absorb before they overthrow Zelensky and his Jewish cabal? Giving up on Ukraine would be the end of Putin, but what comes after could be much worse. This cause is existential for Russia. I don't see them quitting even if it comes to nuclear war. IMO, if Zelensky and his neo-nazi henchmen somehow manage to get the Russian army out of Ukraine, it will join NATO in a New York minute. They'll be forced to by the Great Satan.
Three issues here. First, deaths are not needless if they sustain the nation. What is not discussed is the very sad situation of those people who fell under the Russians in the DPR and LPR. What we do read is that their men, up to 60 years old, are being conscripted as cannon fodder. Ditto in Kherson, Melitopol and elsewhere. Question of dying on your feet or your knees.
Second, the "Jewish cabal" is not such. True the Jews have a lot of power, and tend to support one another, but they are not united.
Third, this battle is existential for Ukraine, not Russia. If they go home and leave us alone we will not attack them. We never did pose a military threat. I don't agree with your point on NATO. Ukraine is happy for their help, but has been lukewarm about actually joining.
Yeah. He blames Dr. Stanley somebody, opthamologist. Old addage was don't piss off a guy who buys ink by the barrel. New one should be perhaps, don't piss off a guy who spews bits by the bucket.
I'd love to move to a different country but am too old to make the move. But I wouldn't move to Mexico for the same reasons I won't move to Florida or Texas. Too damned hot! We whites of Northern Euro extraction are often called Ice People, not fit for hot climates as Mexicans and Vietnamese are.

Hi Outsider,
I've said plenty about the situation in Ukraine:

And here's a 2016 article about my visit to Ukraine:

I was one of the first to repost Lira's videos. I transcribed a good chunk of him talking from the Kiev hotel he would be kicked out of.

I always enjoy Fred Reed. Unfortunately, I think I read that he is practically blind now.

Interesting man and excellent questions to get at the heart of what makes his position so interesting. Well done, as always.

Fred is in Lake Chapala. 5000 ft elevation. Only stretching the truth a tad when they say it's eternal spring.
US is pushing trans everywhere. Ambassador in Korea, Mr. Goldberg!

I feel the same. If not for my daughter, I would have left already.
