While sitting on a bench outside an old Roses department store a few days ago, I ended up having a conversation with an elderly woman. I don't think she wasn't much older than me, if even that. I guess I'm getting longer in tooth myself. She tells me of the front porch she had built onto her house. She had told herself when she got out of the hospital, she was going to get a porch put on the front of the house. She did get out of the hospital and did get that porch built. I asked her if she put a swing on the porch, because I think that I'd like to have a swing where I could sway away my time watching the world go by. She says she hasn't got a swing, but she was thinking about getting a rocking chair. I ask her why she was in the hospital. She says she wasn't in the hospital because she was sick. She worked for the hospital and retired. She said after six months she wanted to go back. She had it pretty good. All they wanted was a body in a chair. They didn't want much past that. She worked two hours a day, five days a week. They didn't bring her back on to the job. Oh well, you can't have it all. I'm pretty sure she'll get a rocking chair though.
I couldn't bring myself to watch the video you posted of the happy snip day party either or whatever that was. I couldn't see to look up the Chandler thing either. Another day in time, those kid's fantasies would have remained latent and may even have become to be left behind as a wtf memory. It is a sad state of affairs to see today's youth being encouraged into acting on their confusions in the most horrific ways.
The conversation I had with that lady the other day was very nice and I'm glad that I could share some moments with her.
I had occasion to join the local old lefty group for their ongoing, hourly protest against the destruction of Gaza and its inhabitants, holding my Thank You, Aaron Bushnell sign. Next to me, an old school leftist, talked my ear off about everything on her mind. At some point I interjected what about trannies? To her credit she did not balk at my outdated, un-pc slang. But she wasn't imagining middle-aged adults crossing over to become preposterous caricatures. To her the movement was about children and teens feeling trapped in the wrong body. So many she knew and/or had heard of. That image was much more pleasant to entertain because they hadn't taken on any opposite sex adult features which would give the travesty away. (Not considering what scars were hidden under clothes.)
Also to her credit she wondered what was causing the increase in body dysmorphia. She thought it might be ingested chemicals. I agreed that was entirely possible. Then I told her what I felt was the main cause: media acceptance of trans surgery as a safe, effective and approved solution to teenage revolution. She got my point.
I am not sure if the theory of "fossil fuels" is right and oil is a finite resource. I do not think oil comes from dinosaurs, if dinosaurs even existed as such. (There's a lot of scams in the field). It's more probable some other geological process is involved, but it could also be a finite resource. We just don't know. However, the main problem of the modern West is not resource depletion -- it is following bad, terrible ideas. We are being led to civilizational suicide.

It is tragic really, when those who think that they know everything--'the elites'--know absolutely nothing. In the end, it really won't matter, we know the country.
